The Casa Cautiño Museum located in the town square, is a historical house turned museum that provides insight into the lifestyle of a wealthy Puerto Rican family during the 19th century. This is a waterfront boardwalk along Jobos Bay where people can enjoy scenic views, leisurely walks, and various recreational activities.

The Aguirre Forest is a natural reserve in Guayama, offering hiking trails and opportunities for birdwatching in a lush, tropical setting. Guayama hosts an annual carnival, known for its vibrant parades, music, and traditional Puerto Rican celebrations. The carnival typically takes place in February.

Guayama is close to the ferry terminal for Gilligan’s Island, locally known as Cayo Aurora, a popular spot for beachgoers and nature lovers.

Guayama has a diverse economy, with industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism contributing to its growth. The town has also been a center for sugarcane and cotton production.
